Western Michigan University President John M. Dunn isn’t worried about lawmakers attaching state funding to performance measures; he just wants to know how universities will be measured. “I think it’s important that we define the metrics. We, as a state thinker, agree that we should hold ourselves accountable for our performance, but when we keep moving (the used to measure university performance) around, it is very difficult to know what the next legislative session thinks is important," Dunn said. "It’s unreasonable.”
