With the start of the new financial year coming up July 1, South Carolina State University trustees say they’re still not ready to approve a final budget.
Instead, they’ve approved a tentative, $70.4 million budget that will carry the university into next year, when they can discuss the issue some more.
Trustee Walt Tobin agrees there are problems that need to be addressed, but says the situation requires long-term thinking.
