Amid uncertainty about enrollment and possible pension costs shift, the Heartland Community College Board approved a tentative operating budget Tuesday night of $32.2 million — an increase of about 3.5 percent over fiscal year 2012. President Allen Goben said after the meeting that he doesn’t expect any major changes in the tentative budget but the college “might have to look at some overall personnel reductions” in the final budget.
