Patients, staff and visitors on the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey campus may want to take a good look at what the half-century-old institution looks like before it starts to change here July 1, 2013. University Hospital itself will remain pretty much the same in location and purpose. It will become a separate line item on the state budget from June 30 onward. UMDNJ's other arms will either carry the Rutgers University name or be parted out to Rowan University. Its School of Osteopathic Medicine and its Stratford campus, for example, will be owned by Rowan. UMDNJ's medical schools here and in Piscataway will respectively go to Rutgers-Newark or its New Brunswick main campus. Its School of Public Health will wear Rutgers-Newark's name; The Cancer Institute of NJ and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School will be in Rutgers' New Brunswick orbit.
