Mount Royal University chalks up budget woes to provincial funding freeze - BRYAN WEISMILLER, CALGARY HERALD

Mount Royal University officials have attributed looming budget shortfalls to an ill-timed provincial funding freeze as the institution prepared to rollout new degree programs in its transition from a college. The university is now looking at hiking tuition by the maximum amount, slashing enrolment and cutting programs, according to options tabled during budget talks this month. Face Time, the university’s internal publication, reported president David Docherty as saying the shortfalls are “a revenue problem” versus a spending issue. http://www.calgaryherald.com/news/calgary/Mount+Royal+University+chalks+budget+woes+provincial/7684580/story.html
