Talks over cuts break down between Emory president, students - Associated Press
The Emory students that staged a sit-in at an administration building to protest the changes to the Emory College of Arts and Sciences earlier this week were hoping a long negotiation with the University’s president would change things. Dean Robin Forman was expected to review how the university decided to make the changes during Friday’s meeting, according to a news release from Emory. The students are upset that the college is phasing out programs including journalism, physical education and visual arts. Some students and faculty question the cuts and say the decision was made without enough campus input.
