Maggie Hassan outlined her budget proposal to the state legislature on Thursday in Concord, stressing the need to restore funding to the University System of New Hampshire. In a presentation that marked the beginning of the state government’s debate on the next two-year budget cycle, Hassan proposed a number of different initiatives to improve funding for certain sectors and raise more revenue for the state. She spent a large portion of her time speaking about higher education.
