U of A Plans $45-million Deficit Budget - Ed Mason, iNews880

The University of Alberta will ask the Redford government for permission to run a big deficit as it struggles to cope with budget cuts. U of A acting Provost Martin Ferguson-Pell says because of "the dramatic cut in funding, coupled with restrictions on tuition and continued low interest rates" the university intends to run a deficit of almost 45-million dollars in the coming year.
