University of Regina passes balanced budget, but tuition going up 4.4 per cent - THE CANADIAN PRESS

Students at the University of Regina will spend more to study next year. The university's board of governors approved its 2013-14 operating budget of $187 million Tuesday. It says the province gave the university a 1.9 per cent increase to its operating grant for the year, as well as $800,000 for the third year of the nursing program. Board chairman Paul McLellan says tuition increases, combined with internal budget reductions, allowed the board to pass a balanced budget.
