Coconino Community College to weigh deep budget cuts - Arizona Daily Sun

CCC officials announced that budget cuts would be necessary after Coconino County voters in a Nov. 5 special election failed to pass a tax override that would have given the community college about $4.5 million a year for the next seven years. They have not yet specified what will go on the chopping block or how much the college will have to shave from its budget. The property tax override would have increased CCC’s budget by about 16 percent. It would also have raised property taxes by about $60 a year for a home valued at $200,000. Officials at CCC said they needed the property tax override to make up for state funding cuts that started during the recession. http://azdailysun.com/news/local/education/coconino-community-college-to-weigh-deep-budget-cuts/article_e48e0654-9de6-11e3-a2b4-001a4bcf887a.html
