Since 1987, state's share of Ball State budget falls from 65% to 41% - Seth Slabaugh, Star-Press

In 1987, the state of Indiana funded 65.1 percent of Ball State University’s operating budget. By 2012, the state’s share of BSU’s budget had dropped to 40.7 percent, reflecting a 25-year, national downward trend in state support for higher education. According to The Chronicle of Higher Education, if spending trends from the 1980s through 2012 continue, state aid for higher education eventually will cease altogether. http://www.thestarpress.com/article/20140311/NEWS01/303110002/Ball-State-University-state-funding-drops?nclick_check=1
