Paddling up stream - Pueblo Chieftan

According to university officials, CSU-Pueblo faces an additional $1.3 million budget shortfall for the 2014-15 school year, which officially begins July 1. That’s on top of a $3.3 million deficit that the institution already is planning for and which resulted in the non-renewal of 21 employee contracts and the elimination of 19 vacant positions. After evaluating the number of students planning to attend CSU-Pueblo next year, school administrators on Friday announced they now expect a 2.6 percent decline in enrollment when compared to this year. And fewer students means less money for the school. http://www.chieftain.com/opinion/2451642-120/pueblo-csu-students-university
