Bradley drops men's tennis, adds men's indoor track - Dave Reynolds, THE JOURNAL STAR

Bradley dropped its 93-year-old men’s tennis program Friday. The decision comes in the wake of the news that BU must cut $7 million from the university operating budget. Elimination of men’s tennis will be a “six-figure savings” even before scholarship monies (4.5 total scholarships) are counted, said BU athletics director Dr. Michael Cross. “The fact we only had three student-athletes affected mattered in this case,” Cross said. “The same thing applies to the coaching situation. We were going through a coaching search — I interviewed four people in person as finalists — until a change of direction was needed. All those things combined led to this decision and made it the right move for the future fiscal health of our department.” http://www.pjstar.com/article/20140606/SPORTS/140609344
