Eastern Illinois University to cut personnel by $6 million - KARSTEN BURGSTAHLER JG-TC

After several committee meetings the Eastern Illinois University Board of Trustees approved two budgets during its Friday meeting. The trustees finalized the Fiscal Year 2015 budget, including $6 million in personnel cuts, and approved the preliminary Fiscal Year 2016 budget. University expenditures are expected to total $105 million in FY 2015 after the cuts -- personnel services represents more than 70 percent of the university's operating costs, Interim Vice President for Business Services Paul McCann said.
