Central Michigan University approves $462 million budget, includes $79 million in state funding - Lindsay Knake, Michigan Live
If state higher education funding had kept pace from 2001, Central Michigan University would be able to cut tuition by $99 per credit hour, officials say. While CMU will receive $79 million in state funding this year, it would have been $131 million if the state hadn't cut support in the past 13 years, said Barrie Wilkes, vice president of finance and administrative services. The Central Michigan University Board of Trustees approved a $462 million operating budget for fiscal year 2015 on Tuesday, June 24. Last year's budget was $442 million.
