N.J. college affordability critical to building economy, ralliers say at Trenton Statehouse - Nicole Mulvaney, The Times of Trenton

A college education long has been seen as the ticket to the American dream of success, but not any more, Princeton Mayor Liz Lempert said Monday at a rally in Trenton. “Something has happened to turn that ticket to the American dream on its head,” Lempert said. “Nowadays, the cost of college is a debt so large that’s it’s putting the American dream on hold and out of reach.” Lempert, along with students from across New Jersey and other elected officials, including state Sen. Loretta Weinberg (D-Bergen), took to the steps of the Statehouse advocating for more affordable higher education and reform on student debt. http://www.nj.com/mercer/index.ssf/2014/06/nj_college_affordability_critical_to_building_economy_ralliers_say_at_trenton_statehouse.html
