University budget approved despite freeze - Steve Hartman, Maryville Daily

Despite a billion-dollar budget withholding action earlier this week by Gov. Jay Nixon that includes $1.5 million in performance-based funding for Northwest Missouri State University, the school’s Board of Regents unanimously approved a $112 million budget for the 2014-15 year. The spending plan includes both the Educational & General Budget and the Auxiliary Enterprises Budget, which embraces self-funding operations such as housing and food services. The G&E budget consists of $87 million earmarked for general operations, including salaries. Nixon’s freeze appeared to have no impact on the board’s decision. http://www.maryvilledailyforum.com/news/article_7b7cd5ac-fd7a-11e3-8249-0019bb2963f4.html
