Report: SUNY Orange faces $1.6M budget gap - Chris McKenna, Times Herald-Record

The nearly $60 million SUNY Orange budget Orange County lawmakers have been asked to approve for the upcoming school year may have a shortfall of as much as $1.6 million, the Legislature's budget consultants have concluded. The Legislature is set to vote on the community college's proposed spending plan for 2014-15 at 5 p.m. Tuesday, following a joint meeting by two legislative committees. Lawmakers had met last week with their consultants, O'Connor Davies, to hear its analysis. The budget planned no increases in the $17.6 million in county funding that supported the 2013-14 budget or the $4,400 annual tuition for full-time students. http://www.recordonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20140826/NEWS/140829792/-1/news
