SRC board to consider options for budget shortfall - Hannah Schrodt , Canton Daily Ledger

Faced with an approximate $220,000 shortfall in the general operating fund for the new fiscal year, the Spoon River College Board of Trustees is expected to weigh its options — including increasing enrollment — to regain the loss at its meeting Wednesday. SRC President Curt Oldfield said the administration will seek input from trustees on the issue, and the board will be discussing the shortfall in both executive and open sessions. The discussion, Oldfield said, will primarily focus on increasing enrollment for the next semester as tuition accounts for about 50 percent of SRC's revenue. http://www.cantondailyledger.com/article/20140826/NEWS/140829475/-1/sports
