Spoon River College to make $250,000 in cuts - Hannah Schrodt, Peoria Journal Star

After an hour-and-a-half-long executive session Wednesday evening, the Spoon River College Board of Trustees decided that the administration needs to cut about $250,000 in expenses for the next fiscal year. President Curt Oldfield said the total estimated revenue for Fiscal Year 2015 is about $8.8 million, with the college facing a little more than $9 million in expenses, amounting in a difference of about $250,000. At the board’s July planning retreat, a $220,000 shortfall had been estimated. Oldfield said because of a decrease in state funds, the spending deficit is now expected to be $252,000. http://www.pjstar.com/article/20140828/NEWS/140829072
