Hocking College's bond rating to be reviewed amid budget shortfall - SARAH HAWLEY, the Messenger
The recent financial problems at Hocking College may have an impact on the college’s bond rating.
A news release from Moody’s Investor Services, the agency which issues bond ratings, states it will be taking a closer look at the college’s rating, possibly downgrading it. The possibility of downgrading the rating was one of the financial topics discussed during Monday’s special meeting of the Hocking College Board of Trustees. A downgrade in the college’s bond rating could effect the cost of borrowing funds in the future if the college would choose to do so. Statements made at Monday’s meeting indicate that the college is not looking to borrow money at this time or in the foreseeable future.
