Community college expected to announce layoffs — WTPZ

A community college's board of trustees is expected to approve faculty and staff layoffs on Monday at a special meeting. Clinton Community College Board of Trustees says the reduction of those positions is proposed as a means to help stabilize the college's budget amid declining enrollment and state aid funding. Additionally, the move should align staffing levels with anticipated lower enrollment for spring and fall semesters of 2015. "This is an extremely unfortunate situation," states CCC Interim President Frederick Smith.
