Hocking union, administration trade barbs over cuts - David DeWitt, Athens News

"Overarching areas of concern are with transparency and general management practices," the union release said. "Professional bargaining unit members have been essentially shut out of discussions of how to respond to the college's current situation in ways that are least damaging to student and institutional success." They contrasted the situation to another round of cuts in 2012, again after significant enrollment declines, when, they said, the former administration of President Ron Erickson worked with the union "to make sure cuts were carried out wisely and with the least possible harm to the institution." Erickson was replaced by interim President Dr. Betty Young this fall after tensions between top administrators at the college resulted in a negativefall-out. Erickson has been retained as a "special adviser" to the board of trustees until April. http://www.athensnews.com/ohio/article-43867-hocking-union-administration-trade-barbs-over-cuts.html
