Illinois state colleges to see more steep budget cuts - Shavon Anderson, WGEM

Governor-elect Bruce Rauner sent a memo to Illinois state colleges that their budgets might be cut by a combined 30 percent by the fiscal year 2016. If it happens, the cost to send your kids to college in Illinois will go up. Officials at Western Illinois University say if Illinois' budget issues aren't addressed soon, tuition could increase. WIU officials also say programs could be cut even further, and already struggling students might be asked to dig deeper into their pockets.
