Columbus State to cut $2.5 million; no layoffs planned - Collin Binkley, Columbus Dispatch

Columbus State Community College plans to cut $2.5 million from its budget this year to offset a bigger decline in enrollment than the school expected. While setting the budget last year, college leaders estimated that enrollment would fall by 3 percent in the 2014-15 school year. But enrollment for fall 2014 was 5.8 percent lower than the year before, and spring enrollment this year is on track to be 9.5 percent lower than last spring. Those drops are measured by the number of credit hours students took. About 24,000 students are signed up for classes in the current spring term. http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/local/2015/01/21/Columbus-State-plans-budget-cuts.html
