Louisiana Higher Ed Braces for Budget Cuts; ULM Remains Optimistic - NextStar Broadcasting

Louisiana universities are bracing for a possible $300 million budget cut. One local school remains optimistic despite the looming cut. For the last six years, the University of Louisiana Monroe has faced budget reductions. And now, a potential 300-million dollar budget cut could lose ULM 40 percent of its state funding. "That would be a devastating cut," said Dr. Nick Bruno, ULM's President. "That probably translates to somewhere around 10 million dollars for ULM. And we currently only receive 24 million from the state." http://www.myarklamiss.com/story/d/story/higher-ed-braces-for-budget-cuts-ulm-remains-optim/25814/dQMop_Yb-EWLeiXyT-OxZw
