The Grim Reality - Katie Biersach, Advance-Titan

Chancellor Andrew Leavitt said at the Budget Town Hall Forum Feb 9, UW Oshkosh will be largely affected due to the UW System budget cut. Leavitt said the available budget at UWO, minus the utilities and debt services, is $106 million. According to Jamie Ceman, assistant vice chancellor of integrated marketing and communications, the university must cut $7.35 million. “That compares to the last budget cut, where we were cut $1.6 million,” Ceman said. According to Leavitt, the $300 million budget cut to the UW System would take place over the course of two years.“It’s $150 million cut in the first year that must be permanent to carry into the second year,” Leavitt said. “If you can cut half of the amount for the biennium in the first year and carry it through the second year, then you’re home.” http://www.advancetitan.com/news/article_8bb26664-b31c-11e4-ac99-1beb1e544d45.html
