Illinois Governor Rauner's Budget Cut Plans Become Reality for Some State Agencies - CAITLIN WILSON, Reboot Illinois

The consequences of bills of Gov. Bruce Rauner’s emergency Illinois budget cuts are beginning to hit home. That means $300 million for college tuition grants, Medicaid reimbursement, certain medical treatments, domestic violence support and others is no longer available, says the Chicago Tribune. The cuts resulted from special authority given to Rauner by the Illinois General Assembly in March to address a $1.6 billion shortfall in the budget for Fiscal Year 2015, which ends June 30. They could affect some of the programs which have run out of money before the end of the fiscal year after an agreement made by Rauner and lawmakers made to cut state spending by 2.25 percent. http://www.rebootillinois.com/2015/04/27/editors-picks/caitlinwilson/rauners-budget-cut-plans-become-reality-for-some-state-agencies-and-their-beneficiaries/36907/
