Ohio State’s biggest college dealing with $10M budget deficit - Tom Knox, Columbus Business First

Ohio State University’s biggest college is facing a $10 million budget deficit. The College of Arts and Sciences, with more than 2,000 faculty and staff, forecasts a $5.4 million deficit for fiscal year 2016, up from $4.6 million for 2015, student newspaper The Lantern reports. The reasons for the shortfall may sound familiar to those watching Ohio higher-education budget issues: Declining revenue from students taking fewer classes and stagnant tuition. The college’s dean said things could have been different if it had implemented a 2 percent tuition increase, but OSU trustees last year froze tuition for undergraduates for the second straight year. http://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2015/04/27/ohio-state-s-biggest-college-dealing-with-10m.html
