Pima Community College Raising Taxes To Cover Budget Cuts - Dennis Lambert, KJZZ

Pima Community College is moving to make up for lost tuition and cuts in state funding. Pima County Community College District board announced a $5-per-credit hour tuition increase for in-state students in mid-March. Now, the governing board is raising taxes, to fund its nearly $259 million budget for the coming school year. The Arizona Daily Star said the tax increase will hike taxes on a $100,000 home by $3.45 per year. The budget also calls for a hiring freeze to save $1 million dollars and administrative cuts to save $800,000. http://kjzz.org/content/151614/pima-community-college-raising-taxes-cover-budget-cuts
