UW-Extension jobs on chopping block amid budget talks - Justin Kabbes, Action Reporter Media

The proposed budget cuts to the University of Wisconsin system could leave dozens of positions at UW Extensions at risk, including ones in Fond du Lac and Dodge counties. Much is still uncertain until lawmakers pass a final budget, UW Cooperative Extension Dean and Director Richard Klemme said. Klemme said between 65 to 80 positions at the county level may be eliminated. If that were to happen, he said he is considering combining the vacant crops and soils agent positions at the extensions in Fond du Lac and Dodge counties into one position. Every county in the state is represented by agents of UW-Extension. Klemme said depending on the size of the cuts, the entire system may need restructuring. http://www.fdlreporter.com/story/news/local/2015/05/30/uw-extension-jobs-chopping-block-amid-budget-talks/28205617/
