University of Akron will reduce air conditioning this summer to save money - Karen Farkas, Northeast Ohio Media

University of Akron has agreed to cut back on air conditioning during some peak-demand hours this summer in exchange for an $800,000 credit from its power supplier. The school also will receive thousands of dollars in credits from its power supplier, PJM Interconnection, for the unused power. Ralph Morrone, associate vice president of planning and facilities management, said PJM asked large power users if they were interested in reducing power during the summer at times when high use could cause brownouts or blackouts. http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2015/06/university_of_akron_will_reduc.html
