At the UI, budget mess causing stress - Julie Wurth, News-Gazette

"Stress levels are high, partly because the numbers that have been talked about are so large," said Professor Matthew Ando, head of the Math Department. "The impact on students and on our ability to teach courses would be pretty big if we had to absorb the kinds of cuts that are being talked about quickly. But there's so much uncertainty right now about what's going to happen." That "not knowing" generates anxiety, said Professor German Bollero, head of the Department of Crop Sciences.
