MSU says goodbye to gator - Dan Linehan, Mankato Free Press

Malachai is not a particularly friendly alligator. When Brent Pearson opens his enclosure, the 4-foot-long reptile opens his mouth and hisses. Malachai soon smells something enticing and focuses on the Alaskan cod Pearson proceeds to carefully feed him. Though he and the gator are not what you would call close, Pearson isn’t looking forward to Sunday, when Malachai will be leaving Minnesota State University. “I’m definitely disappointed to see him go,” said Pearson, the animal facilities director. The gator will be heading up north to a wildlife park near Brainerd.
