Black Hawk to cut programs, staff to balance budget - Jennifer DeWitt, Quad Cities Times

The Black Hawk College board of trustees will be asked at its Dec. 17 meeting to approve plans for: A voluntary termination of employment plan for employees. Under the proposed plan, the early buyout would be available to full-time employees, age 55 or older, with 10 or more years of continuous service as of Dec. 1. Available to both union and non-union employees, the plan would provide a one-time payment equal to 25 percent of their current base pay. Black Hawk president Dr. Bettie Truitt announced several measures Thursday that the college is seeking approval for from its board of trustees, including the program cuts, 15 layoffs and an early buyout program for employees. The board meets Dec. 17. http://qctimes.com/business/black-hawk-to-cut-programs-staff-to-balance-budget/article_12a82609-a34b-5184-a269-9153e5952ba1.html
