Chicago State Supporters Rally to Try to Save School - ABC 7

The institution is reeling from a lack of money coming from Springfield. CSU has sent notices to its 900 employees, saying there will be layoffs if the school doesn't receive its state funding. "Get it together. Figure it out. Keep this school here on the South Side of Chicago. We need it. Especially at this point in time right now, with everything that's going on in the city. This is one of the few places that's a safe zone, where people can come learn, get educated and give back to their community. Stop valuing the dollar over education," said Leon Rogers, WGCI radio host. Meanwhile, Reverend Jesse Jackson has called for a "massive day of resistance" Friday to support the effort. He said people need to fight back and march downtown. http://abc7chicago.com/news/chicagoans-rally-to-save-chicago-state-university/1241300/
