Furloughs, layoffs result from Illinois budget crisis - WAND-TV

1,000 of Northeastern Illinois University's school employees will be required to take one furlough day per week starting next week. The decision comes one day after Southern Illinois University announced it expects to lay off several hundred employees if it loses over $45 million in state funding for fiscal year 2017.
