Local Kentucky college responds to budget cuts - WSAZ

Kentucky Community and Technical College System President Jay Box released a statement, claiming KCTCS is using a reserve fund to cover the recent 4.5 percent budget cut ordered by Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin. Ashland Community and Technical College President Dr. Kay Adkins says KCTCS has anticipated the cuts but was still unhappy to hear the news. "Disappointing. We heard it in January and nothing has been finalized until now, and the timing is bad," Adkins said. KCTCS will use $8.6 million to make up for the budget cuts. About $330,000 will go toward ACTC. http://www.wsaz.com/content/news/Bevin-orders-college-university-budgets-cut-by-45-percent-374244271.html
