Q&A with President Robert Gervasi on Quincy University restructuring and budget - Doug Wilson, Herald-Whig

Quincy University President Robert Gervasi answered questions about the $1.75 million in budget reductions and restructuring efforts announced Thursday. Quincy University restructures, cuts costs to counter $1.2 million in frozen state grants: What has led to the budget cuts? "The most immediate reason was the suspension of payment of MAP grants. About 300 of our students were promised those grants and were never paid. The university cannot afford to continue to float that amount of money." What percentage of the budget comes from the state? "The state owes us $1.2 million from MAP grants ... about 5 percent of the (operations) budget." http://www.whig.com/article/20160331/ARTICLE/303319619
