Students will pay $434 more under $200 million UW-L budget - Nathan Hansen, Lacrosse Tribune

Student fees and living costs will rise $434 next year as part of the $200 million University of Wisconsin-La Crosse budget approved Thursday by the UW System Board of Regents. The operating budget at UW-L will rise $1.5 million from this year under the 2016-17 budget, thanks to $3.7 million in reserve spending by the university. UW-L Chancellor Joe Gow said the use of reserve funds is a way to maximize the resources it has in the face of declining state support for the system. While the state Legislature has frozen tuition at UW System campuses, resident undergraduates will see their costs rise due to the increase in fees, and housing and meal plan costs. http://lacrossetribune.com/news/local/students-will-pay-more-under-million-uw-l-budget/article_9eb4c042-df91-5587-87fd-80956fb3b09d.html
