ECSU to lay off 7 workers - Elizabeth City Advance

For the third time in four years, Elizabeth City State University is laying off employees to meet its budget requirements. Seven ECSU staff members have received reduction-in-force notices that take effect on Aug. 20, the university said in a press release Thursday. A university spokesman only described the staff members as “non-faculty.” The latest reduction in force will save ECSU $440,159.70 a year, the university said. “ECSU administration made the determination that these efficiency cuts are necessary to carry us forward as we work to build the university for future generations,” the university said in a statement. http://www.educationdive.com/news/why-tech-industries-are-demanding-more-liberal-arts-graduates/423093/
