NDSCS cut staff - with more cuts coming due to budget reduction - Frank Skanko, Whapeton Daly

Dr. John Richman, president of North Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton, was often visibly upset while addressing campus faculty and staff Wednesday, Aug. 17. Since February, NDSCS has followed the orders of Gov. Jack Dalrymple, initially reducing 4.05 percent (approximately $2.3 million) from its general fund appropriated budget. Earlier this month, the college made an additional 2.5 percent (approximately $1.4 million) reduction, again from the general fund appropriated budget. Along with having an impact on department operations, the budget reductions resulted in one position being terminated in February, followed by four terminations in August. In addition, 10 employees have had their contracts adjusted to shorter terms. http://www.wahpetondailynews.com/news/ndscs-cut-staff---with-more-cuts-coming-due/article_9ca9b7d8-654f-11e6-83dd-db957e653c95.html
