UW-Madison chancellor: System about to fall behind peer states - Ed Legge, Wisconsin News

Investment in the University of Wisconsin is paramount for the state’s institutions of higher learning to maintain their quality of education, the chancellor of the state’s flagship university told a lunch-time gathering Tuesday. Cuts in the university’s budget for 10 of the past 12 years, UW-Madison Chancellor Rebecca Blank said to group of local educators, UW alums and others at Wild Rock Golf Club in Lake Delton, mean that the 2017-19 budget comes at a critical juncture — and the same goes for all of Wisconsin’s state-run universities and colleges.
