With budget cuts, a UAA physics class has grown too large for any classroom - Charles Wohlforth, ADN

Introductory physics, taught by professor Travis Rector, no longer fits in a classroom. He used to have 60 students in a section of the class and now he has over 200. They meet in the Wendy Williamson Auditorium, a space used for rock concerts and music festivals. "It used to be I could get to know my students. I could track their progress. If someone wasn't doing well, I could reach out to them," Rector said. https://www.adn.com/opinions/2017/04/26/with-budget-cuts-a-uaa-physics-class-has-grown-too-large-for-any-classroom/
