OU Finance office lays off five; this might be just the start of wider cutbacks - Conor Morris, Athens News

Ohio University provided a statement Tuesday explaining that in the face of a budget crunch, five people within its Finance and Administration department have been laid off, or will soon be laid off. A budget presentation given to one academic college earlier this week suggests that faculty, staff or other operating cutbacks could become widespread across OU’s colleges and departments as a result of budget shortages over the next few years, though an OU spokesperson has disputed that notion. In total, the Finance and Administration department has abolished 13 positions, eight of which were unfilled at the time of the removal of the jobs, according to a statement from OU spokesperson Carly Leatherwood. http://www.athensnews.com/news/campus/ou-finance-office-lays-off-this-might-be-just-the/article_99c1ecca-2a98-11e7-980b-ff379ebb647e.html
