Declining enrollment could cause deficit budget for Spoon River College - Larry Eskridge, Peoria Journal Star

Declining enrollment numbers could see Spoon River College operating with a deficit budget for the first time in several years. But, as several SRC trustees pointed out, problems with state financing have helped to make this an unusual year. Enrollment figures presented by Missy Wilkinson showed that enrollment for the fall semester had dropped 8 percent rather than the expected 6 percent. The number of credit hours students had signed up for also decreased. In addition, part time enrollment was also down, as was enrollment for adult learners.
