Departments start school year without budgets as Keene State wrestles with deficit - PAUL CUNO-BOOTH, Sentinel

A week into the school year, academic departments at Keene State College lack finalized budgets as the college determines how to contend with a significant deficit. Kelly Ricaurte, a spokeswoman for Keene State, said low enrollment numbers have left the college with less revenue than expected in its fiscal year 2018 budget. She said that budget, with a $2.4 million deficit, was approved June 23 by the University System of New Hampshire Board of Trustees, which oversees governance at Keene State College, along with its sister institutions the University of New Hampshire, Plymouth State University and Granite State College. http://www.sentinelsource.com/news/local/departments-start-school-year-without-budgets-as-keene-state-wrestles/article_521f8d87-1aaf-5ef0-8035-b41aac4bf133.html
