UConn Trustees Approved Revised Budget, Reflects Cuts Made In October, November - Kathleen Megan, Daily Courant
he UConn Board of Trustees approved an updated budget Wednesday, reflecting the $143 million cut in state funding for the university and UConn Health in the state’s October biennium budget, as well as $21.4 million in cuts enacted by the governor last month. The board had approved a provisional budget in June but had to update it because of additional reductions in state funding for the current fiscal year. “Given the financial situation in the state of Connecticut, we expected beginning last June … all the way through the summer and the fall, we did expect to be cut further,” Scott Jordan, chief financial officer for UConn, told the trustees.
