University of Nebraska President Hank Bounds thanked students, faculty and staff for opposing university budget cuts in an email sent Thursday. In the statement -- given on NU’s 149th anniversary -- Bounds acknowledged those who have supported the university’s fight against Gov. Pete Ricketts’ proposed budget cuts.
