Castleton University announces layoffs, restructuring - Patrick McArdle, rutland Herald

As part of efforts to align Castleton University’s budget with “enrollment realities,” school officials announced layoffs Thursday, as well as potential new programs and outreach to bring new students. The college has reduced its staff by about 30 positions, with 10 of those positions vacated as a result of layoffs. Another 17 positions are open due to retirement, but some of those positions will likely be filled, the school said. Another four spots are teaching positions, which have not been reappointed but will continue through the next academic year, along with the elimination of two dean’s positions as announced at the end of February. https://www.rutlandherald.com/articles/castleton-university-announces-layoffs-restructuring/
